Our Community
If the children are the heart of Snow Lion, their grown-ups are the soul or our community. A child’s grown-up bestows upon a school and its teachers unmatchable trust and confidence. We aim to reciprocate this gift with all of our heart and soul. Together we support, value and love unconditionally. With loving kindness in our hearts, we model for our children what it means to work together as a community. In school, the children help, the teachers help, we join together to clean up, coregulate, explore and wonder. Likewise, we ask grown ups to help too. When children see their parents involved in the school, they see and feel the value of their community and their place in it.
Some ways we encourage families to contribute:
- Volunteering/participating in school celebrations
- Attending one child-centered conference with a teacher each semester
- Joining evening community discussions and gatherings
- Helping with curriculum prep projects (e.g. threading needles, cutting shapes)
- Signing up for one school cleaning project each semester
